Our Bare HR laser uses light to target the melanin that lies in the hair follicle’s growth centers. From there, the light converts to heat to destroy the follicle at the source. Without its growth center, hair follicles can no longer grow in the treated area.
-
The ideal laser hair candidate is those who have areas of unwanted hair containing pigment.
White, blonde, or gray hair is not recognized as easily by the laser.

Six (6) treatments are recommended to reach full hair reduction.

Each area of the body is on a different hair growth cycle. Most areas will require treatments to be spaced out every 4-6 weeks.

Once the hair follicle is damaged, it will not be able to grow any more hair. Most people continue to enjoy the results of laser hair removal for years. However, it is possible that some follicles survive treatment and will be capable of growing new hair in the future. Several factors, such as hormone levels and prescription medications can lead to hair growth. A touch up treatment may be necessary for some.
-
Shave the area being treated 24-48 hours before treatment. We want the laser to target the pigment located in the follicle, not the hair on the surface of your skin. ⅓ of a grain of rice is the perfect length!

Laser hair removal is a very comfortable treatment. The hand piece is made of a sapphire crystal that keeps the skin cool. The sensation is often described as a rubber band snap and is a short-lived sensation. In fact, some clients actually say waxing is more painful as it pulls at the skin and can result in ingrown hairs. Most first-time clients leave their treatment asking, “why didn’t I do this sooner?!”
-
You should see results after your first or second laser hair removal treatment. After a few days to a week, you may experience what seems like regrowth of your hair, but this is actually your hair being shed as a result of the treatment and not regrowth. Hair will become thinner and patchier as treatments continue.
-
Redness and slight swelling are completely normal following your laser hair removal treatment. If experienced, this usually subsides within an hour.
-
No! The laser needs to identify pigment to locate and target the hair follicle. Waxing and tweezing removes the hair and pigment entirely. If waxing or tweezing in done prior to treatment, the laser would have nothing to target ending in an ineffective treatment.
-
Yes! Laser hair removal, along with most other laser treatments, can be done in the summer months. We recommend no active tan or sunburn four (4) weeks prior to laser treatment. You can still be outside if are using SPF and cover appropriately.
As long as you do not have a sunburn and are diligently applying SPF, you are able to be treated year-round.
-
You can apply self-tanner in between your treatments, however it must be FULLY removed before you receive a laser treatment. Any self-tanner on the skin will be recognized as pigment and confuse the machine, resulting in an uncomfortable and ineffective treatment. We recommend no self-tanner use 10 days prior to treatment.
-
You can receive laser hair removal if you have tattoos, if there are no tattoos in the area being treated. Laser treatments are attracted to pigment and would remove the tattoo if treated.
